Ordinal Ranking in Democratic Elections

public - created 05/13/04
A forum to advocate and/or debate the merits of using ordinal ranking in democratic elections.

Sometimes referred to as an "instant run-off", ordinal ranking allows several candidates to vy for the same office without any of them siphoning votes from other potentially more electible candidates.

Researchers consider ordinal ranking to provide the most descriptive information about public opinion since each voter is forced to rank many, if not all of their potential choices, in order of preference.
